“In a recent study, engaging in moderate-intensity aerobic activity for at least 150 minutes each week and muscle-strengthening exercise at least twice a week activity guidelines recommended by the World Health Organization and US Department of Health and Human Services was linked with a 48% lower risk of death from the flu or pneumonia compared with engaging in activity that fell short of the guidelines, after adjusting for sociodemographic and lifestyle factors.”
.
“Moreover, more minutes of moderate intensity aerobic exercise was linked with lower mortality, although the benefit plateaued after 600 minutes per week, according to the analysis of survey responses from nearly 578,000 US adults.”
.
“Physical activity has cardiovascular and pulmonary benefits and is associated with a “healthier immune profile,” the researchers explained.”
