She has worked on issues related to government affiliated disappearances of its citizens that speak out on subjects a government may want to avoid.
Kate does workshops for environmental activists throughout the former Soviet Union. She has worked with environmental activists in the former Soviet Union since the early 1990’s, and she also works to get jailed environmentalists [a.k.a. political prisoners] in Russia released.
Kate is fluent in Russian, has a masters in Russian Area Studies from Georgetown University. In fighting the fights worth fighting, Kate is co-founder of “Crude Accountability”, an organization that works for “environmental and social justice and to the protection of the Caspian Sea”, a problematic area for the crude oil industry in Russia.
